I offer a complimentary, no obligation half-hour conversation to determine if I am the best fit for your needs. For families seeking one-to-one support for their student, I offer additional time for the student to interview me.
We all get stuck in our work or our learning from time to time. Whether it's a small speedbump or a major roadblock, my goal is to help young people and families get unstuck while allowing them to protect the parent/child relationship. I help learners take ownership of their job of learning through:
Any time your student is struggling with their job of learning, whether in elementary school, middle school, high school, or college, they may need a supportive, objective third party to help them rethink how they do their job. When the student's job of learning is interfering with family relationships, it's time to seek outside support.
No one can ethically offer this guarantee. However, I can work with your child to help them determine how they learn best, help you explore educational options and opportunities, and collaborate with your educational team to further their understanding of your child's unique learning needs.
I prefer being on a first-name basis, even with the youngest students I coach. I consider every working relationship to be a meeting of colleagues, no matter our ages. Unlike many learning coaches and tutors, I won't ever tell your student what to do, but I will help them find out about the possibilities and options available to them. My role is guide, sounding board, cheerleader, and fellow detective. We'll figure it out together.
I work with people of all ages. My focus is on helping you find ways to do your work that make sense to you and improve your work experience. A coach can give you a reliable accountability partner as you discover and try new strategies, break or form habits, and evaluate and reflect on changes as you go.
For those seeking therapy, career counseling, or advice on choosing a college or graduate school, I'll gladly refer you to colleagues who specialize in those areas.
I work with students online using Zoom. We'll schedule a regular time for our meetings that fits both of our schedules. I generally meet with individual students once or twice per week for an hour at a time. When the student has enjoyed some success with new strategies and is ready for fewer check-ins, we may move to one meeting every other week. I'm always happy to be flexible about rescheduling as long as I have prior notice. Missed meetings are charged at the usual rate.
My hourly rate is $125 per hour. 5-hour pre-paid packages are available at a reduced rate. I do not accept insurance. Scholarships may be available for eligible families.
